"You will recognise, in this superb book, compassion from a fellow-sufferer that goes way beyond her practitioner experience. Alison's personal experience draws you in from the first page, and persuades you to follow her every painstaking step of the way, to a road of recovery."
Vicki Edgson, Nutritionist, Naturopath, Author and TV Presenter
This series of four short videos from the author and retired neurosurgeon Dr Russell Blaylock bring the encouraging news that the brain is more plastic than was previously thought. He says that provided the brain is given the proper nutrition and rest and neurotoxins are avoided where possible, that the brain can become increasingly complex throughout life and capable of greater function and wisdom.
This is in sharp contrast to the previous notion that we were all on a slippery slope from the cradle to the grave as neurons died in their millions on a daily basis throughout life.
In these videos, Dr Blaylock discusses such issues as:
The importance of maintaining steady blood glucose levels in order to minimise free radical damage to the brain
The cumulative effect of toxin exposure(s) on the brain
The long-term effects of excitotoxins such as MSG and aspartame on the brain - even after short-term exposure
The nutrients required for optimal brain health and to prevent the degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease
The damaging effect of so-called 'healthy' omega 6 oils
The relationship between excess abdominal fat and neurological disease.
