Jamie Oliver's plan
Jamie has a very ambitious plan.
He wants to set up a popular inspirational movement to change the dietary habits of over 30 million Americans! He intends to do this by establishing a network of community kitchens; launching a travelling food theatre for kids; providing basic training for parents and professionals and by bringing millions of people together through an online community to drive the fight against obesity. He is also looking to corporate America to support some of his programmes.
Obviously this is quite a big mission, and he needs help.
Help to staff the project, supply space and equipment, and help from anyone with the talent and inclination to put their shoulder to the wheel of potentially the biggest health crisis of our times.
Sounds impossible?
He's already helped to change government policy in the UK and put school meals centre stage. So watch out America!
“Every child should be taught to cook in school, not just talk about nutrition all day. Good food can be made in 15 minutes. This could be the first generation where the kids teach the parents.”
